We are very sad to report the tragic death of Professor Howard Morris on Thursday, 18 April. Howard has been a research officer and employee of the AACB for a long time. A great clinical biochemist and educator, he was a leading researcher in the field of vitamin D and bone metabolism.

In January 2018, he became the first person outside of Europe or the United States to become the president of the IFCC, a big recognition for Howard for his contribution to the development of laboratory medicine. As president of the IFCC, he visited Kazakhstan for the first time and died of a heart attack.

The Federation of Laboratory Medicine expresses its condolences to Helen Martin and his family.
